Challenges

Post installation, one of the main challenges facing the installation company is being able to identify the efficiency and performance of the PVs installed.

PV Monitoring: There is a fundamental challenge in providing ongoing maintenance services and performance monitoring. To be able to efficiently identify that the PVs are operating correctly and where there is a known fault, which specific PV is faulty is a key benefit to the installers and maintainers. Furthermore, being able to monitor the performance of the PVs is paramount to be able to identify and ensure the PVs installed are operating to their optimal capacity. This is particularly important in terms of health and safety as all works are carried out at high level and in many circumstances on multi tenancy high rise buildings.

Efficiencies are required to reduce the time and cost of maintenance services that occur on site through engineers needing to identify and fix PV faults on an ad hoc basis in a challenging environment.
